I like being independent!
Whenever you hear this statement ask what they mean by it?
If the answer is
Personal, Financial, Emotional, Intellectual, Interpersonal and Social Independence. Then the person really likes being Independent and likes people who are Independent.
It’s Simple, let’s discuss!
When we do our things on our own regarding day-to-day activities like taking care of ourselves, cleaning, cooking, and our daily routines without depending on others, it is Personal Independence.
Financial Independence is what we mostly talk about. One must make money for their survival, needs and wants without depending on others.
Knowing our self-worth, being confident about what we are and how we are. Not blaming others for the emotions generated within us, having control of our emotions and being open to learn what is good for us and choosing emotions without depending on others is what Emotional Independence is.
Intellectual Independence is being open to accept all kinds of perspectives. Not accepting all the assumptions blindly. Questioning and knowing things before following. Forming one’s own beliefs which work positively in one’s lives.
When two or more people are involved in one’s life, decisions made after discussions and alignments of everyone’s requirements then we are Independent Interpersonally. Saying No when needed, collaborative working style and maintaining healthy boundaries is also included.
Social Independence is just able to follow own interest’s without depending on others. Having healthy and supportive relationships. Genuinely enjoying the company of others.
Most important thing about being independent is, it is not a gender based trait, everyone can practice being independent!
